About us
My name is Craig Chan of Earthsong Flutes. Native to the beautiful green land of New Zealand, I now reside in Australia with my beautiful wife and daughter. I have been playing and handcrafting flutes for about seven years. After purchasing a couple of flutes, I realised that I was addicted and set about learning how to make them. I spent endless hours and very late nights studying the flute with a torch and a couple of files. After a couple of attempts I finally achieved a playable flute.
I have travelled extensively through the United States attending flute festivals and conventions. I perform concerts around Australia and attend spiritual and music festivals playing, selling and teaching about the Native American flute.
I hold a monthly flute circle in my home town of Canberra where people of all ages can come and express themselves openly through the flute with encouragement and support. I also hold a monthly meditation drum circle, using the flute and drum to assist and guide people in active journey work (meditation).
My flutes are my passion and I have spent years perfecting the design and voice of my flutes. I am very fortunate to be able to walk this path and give so many people the opportunity to find their own spirit song within them, through the Native American flute.
Each Earthsong flute bears the symbol of two arrows crossing the sacred hoop. This represents the people and teachings that have crossed my path and entered my life and to honour those flute makers before me.
I give thanks to be able to make and play the Native American Flute.
I have to give mention that I wouldn't be making these wonderful flutes if it wasn't for Tony Richards' guidance and friendship through these years.
Blessings
Travel well,
Craig Chan (SixBears)
